Mobile CRF Unit

With funding generously provided by the Diabetes Research & Education Centre Trust (DIRECT), which is part of the Peninsula Medical School Foundation,  the CRF has purchased a mobile research unit (the ‘CRF van’).  The van allows the CRF to take research into the community, reaching patients and volunteers (who are unable to visit us in Exeter) at home, at GP surgeries and, if practical, at their place of work. This aids recruitment and expands our important work in learning more about the causes of diabetes and its related conditions. The inside of the van is fitted out to resemble a small consulting room with a couch, workbench, hand basin, secure storage and electric hook-up to enable us to use a centrifuge, computer and other electrical equipment on site.
